About - Design Shiksha

Being an educator in various disciplines of Design, prof. Nikhil Badde felt a need for establishing a blog that will help guide students in the career of Design. Students who are planning to take up design as a career find it hard to gather all information and necessary resources required for selection of Institutes and disciplines etc.

Design in India is still an unclear discipline for most parents as well as students. Conventional Schools do not provide the required know-how for taking up design as a career; nor are people aware of it long-term prospects.

Design Shiksha Blog will not only provide information on all the aspects of a design career, but will also help provide to build up an aptitude for a certain design discipline, be it Architecture, Interior Design, Product Design, Furniture Design  or Jewellery Design.

Students will be guided with available education options, selection of Institutes, and preparation for Institutional Entrance Exams like CAT (Creative Ability Test) for enabling their being selected into Design Institutes of choice. Entrance Exam Papers will also be available for Students of various Institutes, of the past years for practice solving.

Most importantly Design Shiksha Blog helps students who are victims of improper guidance in Design Institutes, unclear concepts, poor quality educators and methodology in most local and National Institutes due to commercialization and poor quality faculties teaching students; which is a helpless situation for entire batch of students. This results into ignorance towards a subject and also disliking for it due to an inappropriate faculty person teaching the same.

If students find such inadequacies in their course of Design Education, they are free to write to Prof. Nikhil Badde directly on the mail provided below and are also advised to listen to Design Lectures that are in mp3 format, created only for Design Shiksha Blog.

These lectures are developed taking into consideration design education right from the foundation levels to post graduates who will take up design as a profession.
